Instrument Policy

Artist Development Studio Can Provide Instruments for Lessons

ADS can provide students with instruments when they are taking lessons in our studio.  However, as a student advances, they may feel more comfortable using their own instruments and are encouraged to bring them to class. Guitars and Keyboards, plus amplifiers and other support equipment, will always be supplied by the school.

Students Must Have Instruments at Home for Practice

It is very important for students to have their own instruments for practice at home. If you need guidance on purchasing an instrument please reach out to us, we are here to help.. Instruments should be sturdy and bass guitars and lead guitars should be able to stay in tune. Beginning students may wish to purchase a “starter” instrument, although investing in an intermediate-level instrument may, in the long run, prove more economical as a student’s skill level and musical demands increase over time. Keyboard/Piano students should not practice on badly maintained, out-of-tune pianos. The development of an accurate “ear” can be hindered by an out of tune instrument.

Tuition and Billing

Monthly Billing formerly Installment Payments

Monthly billing is a flat rate of $240 for Artist Development Studio for all regular individual lessons except Audio Engineering ,  DJ, and advanced vocals with Coach Blair.

This rate is calculated based on the number of lessons in the month for a full year. Students currently on the Installment Payment plan will remain on that plan until the plan terms are complete and then switched to monthly unless they wish to move to paid in full package lessons.

Payment must be made by the 1st of the month to cover all regularly scheduled lessons and to reserve the day, time slot and instructor. Payment may be made via cash, check or credit card. A 3% processing fee is added to all credit card transactions through Mindbody. Parents paying via credit card will be automatically set up for a recurring credit card charge for each successive month’s lessons. Parents will be sent an email reminder on the 16th of the month that their credit card will be charged on the first day of the upcoming month.

Parents must notify ADS by the 25th of the month if they do not want to continue instruction in the next month. Notification may be made by sending written notification (email is permissible) to ADS or by calling ADS. If any parent has not notified ADS by the 25th of the month, the credit card will be automatically charged on the 1st of the month for that month’s regularly scheduled lessons. The amount charged may vary from month to month, depending on the number of lessons scheduled in the month.

Payment in Full for Package Lessons of 5, 10, 20, or 40

Students who are paying in full for a set number of sessions 10, 20, or 40 must pay in full prior to the start of instruction. Payment may be made via cash, check or credit card. Program prices are subject to change.
